{"id":4785,"date":"2014-07-13T15:56:48","date_gmt":"2014-07-13T21:56:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/?p=4785"},"modified":"2014-07-13T18:30:52","modified_gmt":"2014-07-14T00:30:52","slug":"what-we-reflect-to-others","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.amyreesanderson.com\/blog\/what-we-reflect-to-others\/","title":{"rendered":"What We Reflect to Others"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><b>&#8220;We Judge Ourselves by our Intentions<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><b>Others Judge us based on our Behavior.&#8221;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p>How true is that?\u00a0 I think many of us tend to justify our actions by what our intensions were.\u00a0 Even if in our hearts we know that our behavior was wrong.\u00a0 It is a trap that is easy to fall into.<\/p>\n<p>But without questions others are going to judge us based on our behavior only. And that is incredibly important for us to always keep in mind.\u00a0 Think of it as a good litmus test for yourself \u2013 ask yourself \u201cIs my behavior reflecting the person I desire to be?\u201d\u00a0 If it\u2019s not then we need to change our behavior so the answer can be a resounding yes.<\/p>\n<p>Being a good person takes effort. Not just once, but consistently\u2026day after day&#8230;which means it\u2019s not easy to do. \u00a0But anything worthwhile takes effort in life, so it\u2019s worth it.<\/p>\n<p>Most of you know that my son just returned home a month ago from having served a two year mission for our church.\u00a0 During the two year mission he wore a name tag at all times that had his name \u201cElder Anderson\u201d and it stated that he was a representative of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 No matter where he went during that two years, everyone who saw him could read his name and that he was a representative of Jesus Christ.\u00a0 Can you imagine the weight of responsibility that sat on his shoulders during that two years to make sure he behaved in such a way that his behavior showed others that he was living in line with that name tag?\u00a0 That is serious business!<\/p>\n<p>Imagine if all of us a tag on our chest every day that stated what we represented \u2013 whether it is God, or Jesus Christ, or the Universe, or whatever you believe in.\u00a0 If that was on your nametag on our chest everyday how would we act differently than we do now?\u00a0 It\u2019s an eye opener to think about, and it is a good motivating exercise to help you see how you want to improve your behavior.<\/p>\n<p>Today\u2019s challenge is to act all day as if you are wearing that nametag on your chest for everyone to see what your behavior should reflect.<\/p>\n<p>Have an inspiring day everyone!<br \/>\n~Amy<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;We Judge Ourselves by our Intentions Others Judge us based on our Behavior.&#8221; How true is that?\u00a0 I think many of us tend to justify our actions by what our intensions were.\u00a0 Even if in our hearts we know that our behavior was wrong.\u00a0 It is a trap that is easy to fall into.
