We have all read something that touches us or inspires us at just the right time in our lives. \u00a0Poems have a unique way of having that impact on us. \u00a0I was spending time with my daughter last weekend and we were talking about quotes and poems and stories that have really impacted us. \u00a0She shared her favorite poem with me that has really helped her in her life. \u00a0It is a poem many of you may have heard before, but it is well worth sharing it on the off chance someone out there hasn’t seen it before. \u00a0It has a powerful message that helps us get through hard times, so rather than sharing my own feelings today I thought I would simply share the poem in the hope that it will inspire you too.<\/p>\n
Footprints in the Sand<\/span><\/p>\n One night I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord. \nMany scenes from my life flashed across the sky.
\nIn each scene I noticed footprints in the sand.
\nSometimes there were two sets of footprints,
\nother times there were one set of footprints.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nthat during the low periods of my life,
\nwhen I was suffering from
\nanguish, sorrow or defeat,
\nI could see only one set of footprints.<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u2018You promised me Lord,
\nthat if I followed you,
\nyou would walk with me always.
\nBut I have noticed that during the most trying periods of my life
\nthere have only been one set of footprints in the sand.
\nWhy, when I needed you most, you have not been there for me?\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n
\n\u2018The times when you have seen only one set of footprints in the sand,
\nis when I carried you.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n
