It\u2019s so easy to get in the same old rut day after day, doing the same old things. Life becomes mundane and you start to lose that excitement and drive. You find yourself having less energy and less motivation. It\u2019s harder to wake up. You just feel stuck.<\/p>\n<p>One of the things that causes us to be in a rut is those times we are forgetting to be thankful. We have forgotten to be grateful that we were able to get out of bed today. We have forgotten to be grateful that the sun is shining outside. We have forgotten to be grateful that there is food on our table and a house to keep us warm. And when we stop being thankful we stop feeling happy.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cIt is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>So when you are having a day when you feel in a rut try to sit down and write a quick list of at least ten things you are thankful for.\u00a0 You can write more than ten, but you have to do at least ten because by the tenth item you will physically start to feel different about your day. Try it\u2026it works\u2026<\/p>\n<p>Then jump up from the table and do something AWESOME! Dance around the kitchen, sing at the top of your lungs, just do something spontaneous and crazy\u2026.get YOLO as my daughter would say (for the older people reading this blog that is young people\u2019s saying for you only live once to remind them to be spontaneous and fun and to try new things).\u00a0 All it takes is something small to shake things up and make your day more exciting and fun. The point is to just do something different and fun and free\u2026do something to make you feel alive again\u2026do something to make you smile\u2026<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>\u201cAt the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy, and your eyes sparkling.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span> -Shanti<\/p>\n<p>Now get out there today and be thankful and get YOLO!!!\u00a0 Shake it up baby!!!<\/p>\n<p>~Amy<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Boredom\u2026there is little worse\u2026That is why every now and again you just need to shake things up a little in life.
