I know I have shared this poem in past years, but today I read it again and it really hit me how much this poem describes the person we should all hope to be.<\/p>\n<p>So many things in life may work against us at different times, whether it is bad people, or bad circumstances, or bad feelings&#8230;and no matter what comes against us we have to learn to still stand strong and stand with integrity. We can&#8217;t ever let bad things make us become bad. No doubt it can take serious self-control\u00a0not to\u00a0lash back or\u00a0seek revenge or\u00a0have bad feelings toward those\u00a0who have wronged you,\u00a0but we have to remind ourselves\u00a0that God expects us to\u00a0control our own integrity and our own actions&#8230;no matter what anyone else may have done.\u00a0 And this poem is just a great reminder of all we should hope to be&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>IF<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\nIf you can keep your head when all about you<br \/>\nAre losing theirs and blaming it on you;<br \/>\nIf you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,<br \/>\nBut make allowance for their doubting too:<br \/>\nIf you can wait and not be tired by waiting,<br \/>\nOr, being lied about, don&#8217;t deal in lies,<br \/>\nOr being hated don&#8217;t give way to hating,<br \/>\nAnd yet don&#8217;t look too good, nor talk too wise;<\/p>\n<p>If you can dream&#8212;and not make dreams your master;<br \/>\nIf you can think&#8212;and not make thoughts your aim,<br \/>\nIf you can meet with Triumph and Disaster<br \/>\nAnd treat those two impostors just the same:.<br \/>\nIf you can bear to hear the truth you&#8217;ve spoken<br \/>\nTwisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,<br \/>\nOr watch the things you gave your life to, broken,<br \/>\nAnd stoop and build&#8217;em up with worn-out tools;<\/p>\n<p>If you can make one heap of all your winnings<br \/>\nAnd risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,<br \/>\nAnd lose, and start again at your beginnings,<br \/>\nAnd never breathe a word about your loss:<br \/>\nIf you can force your heart and nerve and sinew<br \/>\nTo serve your turn long after they are gone,<br \/>\nAnd so hold on when there is nothing in you<br \/>\nExcept the Will which says to them: &#8220;Hold on!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,<br \/>\nOr walk with Kings&#8212;nor lose the common touch,<br \/>\nIf neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,<br \/>\nIf all men count with you, but none too much:<br \/>\nIf you can fill the unforgiving minute<br \/>\nWith sixty seconds&#8217; worth of distance run,<br \/>\nYours is the Earth and everything that&#8217;s in it,<br \/>\nAnd&#8212;which is more&#8212;you&#8217;ll be a Man, my son!<\/p>\n<p>-Rudyard Kipling<\/p>\n<p>Great reminder!\u00a0 Have a fantastic day everyone!<\/p>\n<p>~Amy<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Somethings are so powerful you just have to read them again and again, and this particular poem is one of this things.
