Have you ever wondered what it would be like to have a Perfect Day? Well last Friday I found out for myself and it was A-MAZ-ING!<\/p>\n

Friday morning my son Dalton was married to his sweetheart Alexis in the Draper, Utah LDS Temple. My own father, Dalton\u2019s grandfather, was the one who performed the wedding sealing for time and all eternity. It was a beautiful ceremony. Following the temple we headed up to the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City to their Grand Ballroom for the Wedding Dinner and then a Wedding Reception. Seeing them walk out of the temple after the ceremony was priceless…look at the joy on their faces…and Mom and Dad look pretty happy too \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

I have spent the last few months planning every little detail of this event. I had decided that rather than hiring someone else to plan their wedding I would do it all myself to make it my gift to the kids\u2026a labor of love so to speak. Going into it I had no idea how hard it would actually be to plan every detail of a wedding or I probably wouldn\u2019t have ever started down that road, but after doing all the work and then finally being able to see it all come together I am so glad that I stuck with it\u2026the end result was truly breathtaking and it blew Dalton and Alexis away so I knew I had accomplished what I set out to do.<\/p>\n

My son teased me along the way because I had powerpoint presentations with pictures of every detail I planned and every vision I had.\u00a0 I had spreadsheets upon spreadsheets tracking every vendor I hired, every guests details, a minute by minute timeline of exactly what had to happen each moment of the event. I realize that to some this might have seemed like overkill but for me this is the only way I know how to do things right. I am all about PLAN PLAN PLAN.\u00a0 And my Powerpoint with all my ideas was a Goal Poster for me and anyone who knows me knows that I live by the power of the goal poster!\u00a0 Because it WORKS!\u00a0 If I can visualize something I can make it happen\u2026it\u2019s that simple.\u00a0\u00a0 I was going to wait to post photos until I get the professional shots but I am too excited so I am going to give you a sneak peak now of our iphone shots but when the professional shots come back I will do at least one post to showcase those because they will be a million times better!<\/p>\n

Here’s a quick video of the bride and groom getting a sneak peak of the Grand Ballroom before any of\u00a0the guests arrived (there isn’t any sound with this first video fyi).\u00a0 My favorite higlight in this video is the amazing white dance floor I had custom wrapped for the kids with their names on it – it is stunning! The evening was a huge success. At the dinner we had our daughter who is away on a mission send us a video of her doing a toast to surprise her brother. It was a highlight of the toasts. We also had an amazing video of the bride and groom made that showed them\u00a0growing up and then dating and then getting married. I had to watch it 12 times before we showed it at the wedding dinner so I could stop crying enough to not destroy my makeup at the dinner!\u00a0 So beautiful and touching!<\/p>\n

My favorite moment of the night was when I got to go on the dance floor with my son for our Mother \/ Son dance to Garth Brooks song \u201cMom\u201d. It is such a beautiful song! But then halfway through my son decided we had to be \u201cus\u201d and next thing you know he was challenging me to a Dance Battle of his current dance moves versus my 80s dance moves. We hadn\u2019t rehearsed anything so I was scared to death! But I have never been one to be willing to back down to a challenge and I also believe you gotta set your fears aside and go for it full throttle\u2026high heels, blisters, and all!<\/p>\n

I\u2019m dying to get the professional videographers version of this battle so I can prove to my son once and for all that I definitely won the battle \ud83d\ude42\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 but here is the iphone footage my husband tried to grab and this one definitely has sound!! \ud83d\ude42\u00a0 :<\/p>\n
