There was everything from legislators performing a Riverdance celtic dance to Congresswomen singing Broadway tunes from Wicked and Hamilton to the Lt Governor playing his guitar in a rock band to the State Attorney General rapping. It was an evening of entertainment not to be forgotten!<\/p>\n<p>The thing I loved the most about tonight was watching these people being willing to totally put themselves out there in a very vulnerable way&#8230;they all went out of their comfort zones and put aside their suits and ties and their formal professional selves and they shared a totally different side of themselves with all of us.<\/p>\n<p>As I watched them perform I couldn\u2019t help but think how much more we are endeared to people when we get to see their authentic selves and when they are willing to put themselves out there for us in a vulnerable way.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\">\u201cBeing vulnerable is scary\u2026that\u2019s just the way it is. However, that doesn\u2019t mean that you should avoid putting yourself out there at all costs. Quite the opposite actually! The only way to form real deep and meaningful connections to get exactly what you want and need, and to grow as a person is to put yourself out there. Fully and completely.\u201d<\/span> \u2013Stephanie Zamora<\/p>\n<p>When people allow you to see who they are \u2013 all sides of them \u2013 the formal, the fun, the serious, and the silly \u2013 it really makes you love them so much more and it helps them connect with others in a much more meaningful way.<\/p>\n<p>We can\u2019t wait to perfect our talents to put them out there in front of others. In fact, sharing our imperfect talents is a far greater tool for connecting with others because<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #993366;\"><strong>\u201cImperfections are not inadequacies; they are reminders that we\u2019re all in this together. \u201c<\/strong><\/span> -Brene Brown<\/p>\n<p>Just as we love people who put themselves out there in front of us, others will love us more when we put ourselves out there in front of them.
