But long ago in my life I came to the realization that once we have done all we could do we have to let go and accept that whatever the outcome is will be the best outcome for best future happiness to occur.

So often in the moment we are operating on a very finite amount of information and so when we get our heart set on something we want it is because we don’t have the foresight to see that there is something even bigger and better that lies ahead and that by having the current situation not work out it is paving the path for us to have the better situation come about in its place.

Garth Brooks performs a song called “Unanswered Prayers” in which the chorus sings:

“Sometimes I thank God for unanswered prayers
Remember when you’re talkin’ to the man upstairs
That just because he doesn’t answer doesn’t mean he don’t care
Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers”

I’ve seen that so many times in my own life:

Times in business when I had a deal I was putting together and it fell apart last minute and I was devastated, but after that fell apart it ended up leading me to another deal that was magnitudes better for me than the first one had been…

Times in my personal life when I was dating a man and wanted it to work out so badly only to have it come to an end. And then sure enough in walked an even better man who was more amazing than anything I had even imagined for my life…

In both my business and personal life if things had gone the way I had originally hoped I would have been settling for something so far below the incredible masterpiece that God was planning for my future. That’s why I’ve learned to give things my best effort and then simply put it in God’s hands and trust that he will take me where I need to be from there. I think its important to note my statement that it’s only after we have done all we can do and we have given it our best effort that we can be at peace about the outcome…we have to do our part first in order to truly be at peace that God is overseeing the outcome.

Handling things in life that way is the best way I know to have peace in your heart and confidence about your future.

Have an amazing week ahead everyone!
