Having a plan in place is great and it definitely allows me to get much more accomplished. But when something happens to make a plan go sideways, well that is when we have to make a decision – will we choose for the glitch in the plan to become an ordeal, full of stress, anxiety, and frustration? Or will we choose to make it an adventure, full if excitement, fun, and memorable life experiences?

I will be the first to admit that my natural default when there is a glitch in plans is to jump to “ordeal” without even realizing I have made a decision on the matter. So for me, I always have to stop and mentally remind myself that I actually DO have a choice in the matter and that I CAN DECIDE to make the glitch into an “adventure” instead.

One of the best ways to help myself shift my thinking is to think back to the times there have been glitches in the past because so many of those glitches in plan turned out to be some of my funniest and happiest memories – such as the trip I took with my family several years ago when we experienced about every glitch in plans a person can experience, yet it turned out to be one of our favorite trips – you can read about that trip here https://www.amyreesanderson.com/blog/i-wouldnt-trade-it-for-a-thing

I also remind myself to keep in mind that sometimes when things seem to be falling apart they are really falling into place.
