“For a long time it has seemed to me that life was about to begin; Real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be got through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. Then life would begin. At last it dawned on me that these obstacles were my life.”<\/span> – Albert D’Souza<\/p>\n

When I was young I would think to myself, \u201cAs soon as I complete \u2018this\u2019 or \u2018that\u2019 my life can finally begin\u201d\u2026when I was a young adult I would think to myself, \u201cIf I could just finish doing \u2018this\u2019 or get past \u2018that\u2019 then my life will really begin. But the longer adult life went on the longer the lists of \u2018this\u2019 and \u2018that\u2019 needing to happen before my life could truly begin just got longer and longer\u2026as soon as one \u201cthis\u201d would finish another \u201cthat\u201d would appear\u2026and for every \u201cthat\u201d I made it through another \u201cthis\u201d would pop up \u2026and so it continued\u2026 until it finally dawned on me that all the \u201cthis\u2019s\u201d and the \u201cthat\u2019s\u201d were exactly what life was all about.<\/p>\n

It is about setting goals and working toward them. It is about facing challenges and overcoming them. It is about going through the hurts to experience those happy times. All of it combined is life. We aren\u2019t waiting for life to begin \u2013 we are already experiencing it \u2013 and the sooner we realize that and embrace it the happier we will be.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo many of us are always waiting to be happy. \u201cIf only I could graduate, if only I could afford a car, if only I could get married \u2026\u201d For too many, happiness is just over the horizon, never reachable. Every time we climb one hill, happiness beckons just beyond the next.<\/span><\/p>\n

It is a terrible thing always to be waiting for tomorrow, always depending on tomorrow, always excusing our todays because we are sure that only in the future will we possess the things that will fulfill us.<\/span><\/p>\n

Don\u2019t wait for tomorrow. Don\u2019t wait for the right job, the right house, the right salary, the right dress size. Be happy today. Be happy now.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0\u00a0 -Joseph Wirthlin<\/p>\n
