Gossiptown<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

Have you ever heard of Gossiptown
\nOn the shore of Falsehood Bay,
\nWhere Old Dame Rumor with rustling gown
\nIs going the livelong Day?<\/p>\n

It isn’t far to Gossiptown
\nFor people who want to go,
\nThe Idleness train will take you down
\nIn just an hour or so.<\/p>\n

The thoughtless road is crowded, you’ll find,
\nFor most folks start that way;
\nBut it’s all downhill and, if you don’t mind,
\nYou’ll land in Falsehood Bay.<\/p>\n

You glide through the valley of Wicked Talk,
\nAnd into the tunnel of Hate;
\nThen, crossing the Bitterness Bridge,
\nYou walk right into the city gate.<\/p>\n

The principal street is called “They Say,”
\nAnd “I’ve Heard” is the public well,
\nAnd the breezes that blow from Falsehood Bay
\nAre laden with “Don’t You Tell!”<\/p>\n

In the midst of the town is Telltale Park-
\nYou’re never quite safe when there;
\nFor its owner is Madame Suspicious Remark,
\nWho lives on the street “Don’t Care.\u201d<\/p>\n

What a great poem! I wish I could find the person who wrote this poem and who wrote yesterday\u2019s poem Put-Off Town <\/a>so I could tell them how fabulous I think they are! I love how these poems illustrate the \u201cwhat not to do\u201d if we want to be happy in life. Just as there is no happiness found in procrastination (aka Put-Off Town), there no happiness to be found in Gossiptown either. Gossiptown has only negativity, hate, and bitterness residing there and only the idle have time to visit.<\/p>\n

The best way to avoid ending up in Gossiptown is to stay productive doing positive things\u2026which just so happens to be the same thing that will lead us to Happiness-Land \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
