No one really knows how.&#8221;<\/span> -unknown<\/p>\n<p>That is SO TRUE!\u00a0 I still remember being a little kid and looking at the adults thinking &#8220;They are so lucky to be a grown up.&#8221; Then I became and adult and I was like, &#8220;Wait&#8230;what the?!?!&#8230;Well, this isn&#8217;t at all what I thought it was gonna be&#8230;&#8221; Now I realize I shoulda milked being a kid for all it was worth while I had the chance!<\/p>\n<p>Being an adult can be rough. You gotta put your own band-aid on when you get a scrape. You have to go to work everyday and there isn&#8217;t any recess at work.\u00a0You don&#8217;t get to go play outside until its dark and your mom yells to tell you dinner is ready.\u00a0There is no one to sing you a lullaby before you fall asleep at night. Oh, and you gotta figure out how to fold a fitted sheet&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Without a doubt, childhood was pretty awesome. And I&#8217;m sure I&#8217;m not the only one who wishes she would have appreciated it just a little bit more while I still was one. But going back to that time isn&#8217;t an option (although some sure seem to try). We just have to face the &#8216;being an adult&#8217; thing as best we can and appreciate it while we are in it, because before you know it, here comes parenthood&#8230;and if being an adult is like folding a fitted sheet, parenthood is like&#8230;aye, yai, yai&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Learn to appreciate the place you are in and do your best to enjoy it while you are there!<\/p>\n<p>~Amy Rees Anderson<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&#8220;Being an adult is like folding a fitted sheet.
