Starting The Decade Off Right!

Welcome back from the holidays everyone! And even more so, welcome to 2020!!! We have officially begun a whole new decade. It’s so exciting!

After spending the Christmas holiday with our family here at home, which was fabulous, my husband and I decided to fly down to California to spend a few romantic days alone to celebrate our 12 year wedding Anniversary which was on New Years Eve. We stayed at the beautiful Montage Resort in Laguna Beach relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the ocean. It was great spending time alone as a couple because doing so always helps us remember why we fell so in love with each other twelve years ago.

Then, to celebrate New Years Day we chose to start the new decade out at the most magical place on earth…Disneyland! What better way to start things off than with the magic of Disney, beautiful castles with princes and princesses who live happily ever after, Mickey Mouse, and amazing fireworks? Our daughter Ashley and her husband Alex and our friends the Petersons flew down to join us for a fun-filled day at Disneyland where we had a great time going on all the rides, meeting Mickey Mouse, and watching the firework show at the castle. I seriously cannot think of any better place to start off a new year than Disneyland because Disney just screams – IT’S GOING TO BE A MAGICAL YEAR!!!

I have to say that my favorite part of the last several weeks was that I totally unplugged myself from all work stuff and stayed off emails and I ignored the craziness of life so I could focus entirely on just enjoying my time with my family. The truth is that I haven’t unplugged like that in a long time and I really needed it. It also helped me realize that my theme for this year is going to be to live by this quote from Gordon B. Hinckley:

“In all of living have much of fun and laughter.

Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured.”

I truly do believe that 2020 is going to be a year filled with many new beginnings of once upon a time that all end with happily ever afters…
