Best Birthday Present In The World!

Tonight I came home to find my children had come together to write a blog post for my birthday present – best birthday present in the world! Here it is:

To the Woman who Does it All, Happy Birthday!

Often our mom dedicates a special blog to each of us on our birthdays, and we figured we would return the favor in honor of her birthday. From all of your offspring, happy birthday Mom!

Ashley (daughter): Where do I even begin… I have one of the most knowledgeable, faithful, caring, driven, ambitious, strong, hard-working moms in the entire world. It’s evident what she values most in this world based on where she allocates her time — with family/grandkids, humble leaders in the community, driven self-starters, and good friends who inspire her. She never stops, never gives up, and never takes no for an answer. She’s helped me see that my potential is far more than I could have ever imagined for myself, and pushes me to be better every day. Happy birthday to the woman who does it all!

Alex (son-in-law): I feel so lucky to be able to call Amy my mother-in-law. Her faith, strength, love, and happiness have been so prevalent these past few years, and have had a big impact on our family. It’s been a huge blessing to have married her daughter, who carries so many of the amazing attributes Amy taught her. We love the time we are able to spend with her, and the valuable lessons we always learn. We love you Amy, and wish you the best birthday ever!

Magnolia (granddaughter): My grandma is the best because she loves me and I love her. She spoils me with the cutest baby bows. I don’t think I’ve worn the same one twice since I was born… 3 MONTHS AGO! I am one lucky girl to have her as my grandma!

Flynn (grandson): I love my grandma and I hope she has a good birthday. She gave me a teddy bear for my birthday, and when you squeeze the hand it says, “Grandma loves you Flynn!”  I listen to that every night before going to bed. I know that if I want something and Daddy says no, I just have to go to Glamma!

Alexis (daughter-in-law): Amy is one of the most determined people I know. If she has a task to accomplish, she will not only do it, but make it better than you ever imagined it could be. She is also loyal. She would drop everything to help those who matter most to her. These are only a couple of my favorite qualities Amy has. I am so blessed to have her as a mother-in-law! I hope she has the best birthday ever. She deserves it! Love you!

Dalton (son): My mom is one of my best friends. She’s funny, always ready to party, and is a great teacher. She also makes sure I stay well fed. When my wife made me make “good life choices” (debatable) by trying to eliminate fast food, my mom was there to sneak McD’s across the prison wall (my driveway) so that I could fill my stomach with heaven’s food. Mom, I hope you have a marvelous birthday. You look just as good turning 30 this year as you did turning 30 last year. Thanks for always taking care of my family, and spoiling my kids rotten… but seriously we need to set limits on the amount of toys they receive. It’s becoming excessive. Love you!

What an amazing birthday gift! Thank you to my children and grandchildren (with their parents help) for making my birthday so truly special this year. That meant the world to me!!!
