Life isn’t easy and people aren’t perfect

“Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on: you knew those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently he starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of—throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were going to be made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace”  – C. S. Lewis

There are days when it feels like there’s a wrecking ball hitting you in the gut…where it can hurt so deeply that it feels like you can barely breathe…where you feel frozen, unable to move even a little bit for fear that if you move even an inch you could fall into a space of nothingness where you would see no hope of getting out…. Whether someone else hurt you, or circumstance led you there, or you yourself did something unwise to get you there, the only way I know of to survive those moments in life is to pray. To pray with all your might to God that He will help you to find the strength and the will to get through and overcome whatever hurts you are facing. And pray to recognize those angels that God puts in your life to help see you through those darkest days. And trust that He never abandons us…not ever.

Life isn’t easy and people aren’t perfect. But if we hold onto hope and if we give God our faith, we will someday see that He was, within us, building a palace.

Have a beautiful weekend everyone.

Whatever you are going through God has an app for that. He APPears. He APPlies. He APProves. Our job is to APProach Him in faith and believe He knows what is best and is doing what is best. It’s all about God.

Amy, love the vulnerability you show in you posts. Would love to hear about how you have dealt with betrayal from employee, partners or people you thought were in your side!
