If you don’t like the way something is going in your life you can’t sit back and expect someone else to fix it for you. You’ve got to be willing to fix it yourself. For example:
If you don’t like your job: You can evaluate what it is you don’t like about the current job and determine if there is anything you could do to help improve the situation or you can take initiative to learn a new trade or skill so you can find a different job.
If you don’t like your relationship: You can’t control your partner but you can control how you act. You can seek counseling on your own to help yourself become emotionally stronger. You can focus on making sure you treat your partner well and do what you can to improve that friendship from your end. Or you can get out.
If you don’t like your financial situation: You can look at your spending and ensure you are making the right spending choices. You can seek a higher paying job. You can take on a second job.
Whatever it is in your life that has you feeling dissatisfied, don’t keep doing the same thing you’ve been doing expecting a different result…it won’t get better until you are willing to do something different yourself.
I love this flowchart someone made that illustrates this point perfectly – Not happy in your life? CHANGE SOMETHING. Maybe that change is something as simple as an attitude adjustment or maybe its a more major change needed…whatever it is, get to it!
