Enjoy The Moment With Your Full Focus

I’m one of those people that when I know I have something coming due in the future, that I haven’t had time to do yet, it weighs on me like a big ball of stress just waiting to smack me in the gut.  I find I have a hard time relaxing and enjoying anything if there is some project coming due that I haven’t gotten all handled yet. And because my life is crazy busy and I’m always doing a million things at a time, I almost always have projects looming in the future that are weighing on me because I can’t get on top of them early on and I’m not able to get to them until right before they come due.   So I feel like I pretty much live in this constant state of stressing about things I need to get done rather than enjoying what’s happening in the moment.  It’s been a problem my entire life…

The older I get the more keenly aware I become of how important it is to learn to live in the moment rather than being in a constant state of stressing about the future…and yay for me for recognizing how important it is to change that…but the truth is that recognizing it has proven to be far easier than actually changing…

I’m still working on changing for the better in this regard. I’m trying to do a better job of doing things as far in advance as I can so I don’t have the worry of them hanging over me. And I’m trying to do a better job of recognizing that taking time for ourselves is a necessary part of the day…it’s just as important as getting things done…And finally I’m trying to remember that if I died tomorrow the thing I’d wish I’d done today would be to have enjoyed my family with all my focus and energy.

Enjoy your families this weekend with your full focus.
