Never follow someone else’s path…well, unless you’re lost

“Follow your passion, stay true to yourself, never follow someone else’s path unless you’re in the woods and you’re lost and you see a path then by all means you should follow that.”- Ellen Degeneres

First off all Ellen Degeneres cracks me up. Her humor can’t help but make you smile. And I love that she enjoys dancing the same way my family does. Everything is happier when you dance your way through it!

Even though her quote is cute and funny, it still gives some really sound advice. Follow your passion and stay true to yourself…figure out who you want to be…figure out what your talents and abilities are…don’t just look to others to see what they do because newsflash – you aren’t them! You are you and your path is meant to be your own. That’s why we each have unique talents…we are all our own unique piece to this great big puzzle that when it is all put together makes this incredible picture. But if you try and force your piece into someone else’s spot not only will it never perfectly fit there, you will end up leaving a gaping hole where your piece was meant to go and the picture will never be complete…and let’s be honest…there is nothing more annoying than looking at a puzzle that has a missing piece!  Seriously #majorpetpeeve

I think its vital to recognize that no one piece of the puzzle is better than any other piece…they are each different but they all represent equal significance when it comes to the overall picture. Any one missing piece creates the same hole in the picture, therefore, they all matter the exact same. Every piece is needed and every piece must end up in its proper place to make the picture complete.

Figure out what place your piece fits. Don’t aspire to be any other piece. Aspire to find where you fit and then take your place that only you can fill in this picture called life.

It’s gonna be a great day!
