“The real tragedy is the tragedy of a man who never in his life braces himself for his one supreme effort, who never stretches to his full capacity, never stands up to his full stature. To lie down and moan and whine about limited opportunities is the part of weaklings. To grasp the opportunities at hand and walk forward is the way of the strong.”
Standing up to our full stature can be scary. It’s scary because we realize that if we attempt to stand up we are running the risk of failing, although on a positive note we are guaranteed to learn something along the way.
The great irony of that thinking is that by never attempting to stand up we have already guaranteed we will fail, and even worse, we will learn absolutely nothing in the process. So how could we ever convince ourselves this is the smart way to go?!
When it comes down to it we are literally choosing between:
A. Try, Fail, Learn
B. Don’t Try, Fail, Learn Nothing
And when we look at it like that it becomes such an obvious “DUH!” of a choice – We should choose Option A all day long!!!
Don’t shy away from opportunities and don’t guarantee failure by not trying. There is only one way we will ever be able to stand up to our full stature and that is to stretch ourselves beyond our current comfort zones. “To grasp the opportunities at hand and walk forward is the way o the strong.”
Have a great day and BE STRONG!
