We All Need Reasons To Celebrate

If you happen to like Polar Bears, Pokemon, Chili, or Protein then February 27th is definitely your day to celebrate! That’s right – its National Polar Bear Day, National Pokemon Day, National Chili Day, and National Protein Day!  YEEEE-HAWWWW!!!

I can’t help but wonder who comes up with all these random national holidays?  But whoever they are, I think they are AWESOME!!!!  “Why?” you ask?  Because right now it’s the end of February, the weather is yucky, its dark outside by 6pm every night, its flu season, the coronavirus is spreading like crazy, and frankly it’s just nice to have all these random national holidays that give us a reason to celebrate and be lighthearted!

I had a really long, stress-filled day today, yet it felt like the clock whizzed by so fast today that I barely had a moment to breathe before it was already dark out. My head was spinning with all the things I’d hoped to get done but didn’t, and the pile of things that as going to be waiting for me to get to tomorrow because I didn’t finish them today, and I found myself already dreading tomorrow when it isn’t even here yet!  That’s messed up!!!  So, as I sat down to write a blog tonight I forced myself to google what random holidays there were tomorrow to give me something lighthearted and fun about what to look forward to tomorrow – and guess what? – it totally worked!  As I read the list of holidays for tomorrow I got this mental picture of polar bears eating chili while playing pokemon I couldn’t help but start laughing at the thought…laughing totally eased the tension in my body, and I felt myself begin to relax…I have to admit the thought of National Protein Day didn’t do much for me, but the silliness of finding fun little reasons to celebrate and look forward to tomorrow did.

We all need reasons to celebrate, even if they are small, insignificant, silly reasons…every little bit helps.
