Last Minute Gift Ideas

So for those of you out there who are like me, and who are still struggling to come up with a few more gifts before Christmas next week, I decided to put together a list of some last minute gift ideas that could help you if you are stuck trying to find a few more gifts to go under the tree.  And these are gifts you could still go get in time.

Winter Coat, Boots, Scarf, and Gloves

Pajamas and Slippers and a Snuggie Blanket

A digital photo frame filled with fun pictures of good memories

The new xbox game Call of Duty Ghosts

A small remote control helicopter from Brookstone

Tickets to a play or a concert.  It’s a great gift and it gives them something to look forward to after Christmas.

Ipad, ipad mini, or iphone – can’t go wrong with any of these!

A popcorn bucket full of fun DVDs and microwave popcorn packets and candy, or movie gift cards instead of DVDs

A favor coupon book – hand make coupons for favors for someone else that they can cash in whenever they want them.

Do an old school mix tape by burning favorite songs on to a DVD for someone or make them an itunes playlist of all the favorite songs you share

Give a weekend away as a gift.  Cut out pictures of where you are taking them and put them in an envelope to place under the tree with a bow.

Cuff links

A popcorn tub from the Popcorn Factory

V-Chocolates and carmels and toffee

A fondue pot with chocolate and fruit

Electric Heated Blanket – I love mine and couldn’t sleep without it!

Gift card to Zappos.com (every woman appreciates having the ability to pick out new shoes)

Jewelry is always good – especially if it is spelled D-I-A-M-O-N-D-S.  If you are afraid to pick this out without her being included in the choice you could go buy a candy diamond ring and wrap it in a box and put a note in there explaining that she gets to pick out  a real diamond and trade in her candy ring for it.  That way you can wrap something under the tree but let her pick it out after Christmas.

Don’t ever underestimate the power of a handwritten poem or note to someone as a Christmas gift.  Last year our daughter wrote a “Daughter’s Contract to her Dad” in which she wrote that she promised to never be too old to snuggle with him and she promised that even when she is married someday she will still call her daddy to come fix her flat tires, and she promised to always be his little girl.  It was so adorable and my husband got teary reading it.  It was his favorite Christmas gift ever.  These are the kind of presents that never get thrown away.  My children once wrote me a book of poems for Christmas and I have treasured those books greatly.  Personal gifts from the heart are always the best.

I hope all of you have a fun week of shopping and doing last minute preparations for your Christmas.  If you are stressing about cooking just go online and order a honey baked ham and have it delivered to your house.  No need to do everything the hard way!

Have a fabulous, fun filled weekend.  Don’t stress too much.  Eat lots of fudge and holiday goodies and just enjoy the time with your loved ones!

~Amy

PS.  For those who read my blog yesterday the Motab concert was cancelled last night due to the heavy snow and bad roads, so my husbands singing with them is being rescheduled.  It was disappointing since his parents had traveled down from Idaho to be here for it but nothing any of us could do about it so I will let you know when it gets rescheduled again.
