Today Or Never, That’s My Motto

As a child I loved the movie Mary Poppins. I loved the music and the animation mixed with real life and I loved the positive takeaways from that movie. Two of them I remember best from that original movie were in the Mary Poppins quotes:

“In every job that must be done, there is an element of fun.” and “Just a spoon full of sugar makes the medicine go down, in the most delightful way.”

Tonight our family gathered together to watch the new movie Mary Poppins Returns together. Disney never fails to knock it out of the park with their family friendly movies – that’s why I love Disney so much – the movie was awesome!  And once again it shared some fantastic positive messages to takeaway. Some of my favorites are:

“Let the past take a bow. The future is now.” – Jack

What a great reminder that what’s happened yesterday is in our past. All we can do with our past at this point is be sure to learn from it. But then we have to let it be over – that curtain has closed. We need to see the moment we are in right now as the moment the curtain is coming up for the opening scene of our future.

“We’re on the brink of adventure, children. Don’t spoil it with questions.” – Mary Poppins

I love that quote because so often when we feel uncertainty about our future we hesitate on everything. We think we need to have all the answers before we can make any decisions and move ahead with things…but the reality is we are never going to have all the answers before we must make decisions and even if we did circumstances would be bound to change on us anyway. We just need to recognize that not having all the answers is what makes life an ADVENTURE!

“Everything is possible, even the impossible.”  – Mary Poppins

This quote speaks for itself. Stop limiting yourself. Dream whatever you want to dream, no matter how big it may be. Stop putting parameters on what you think is possible.

“TODAY or NEVER, That’s my motto.” – Mary Poppins

And there it is! So what are you waiting for?!  All you need to do now is: Put the past in the past. Stop asking questions. Realize that everything is possible. And get out there and DO IT! TODAY!!
