“It Ain’t About How Hard You Hit, It’s About How Hard You Can Get Hit And Keep Moving Forward.”

“The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place, and I don’t care how tough you are, it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard you hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward; how much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth, then go out and get what you’re worth, but you gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody. Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that!”     -Rocky Balboa

Maybe it’s because I was a teenager in the 80’s, but I absolutely loved the Rocky movies!  I think I loved them because I always knew there was going to be that point in the movie where Rocky went from feeling weak and defeated, to turning his attitude around, working his guts out (while they played some amazing music that totally pumped you up!), to Rocky being victorious in the end …ahhh yessss….how I loved those Rocky movies!

I especially love that quote from Rocky. I mean, how is that for a great ‘pick yourself up’ quote?!  It’s so good that we should all print it out and put it on our wall or on our bathroom mirror or somewhere we will be sure to see it, so that the next time we find ourselves feeling defeated and starting to blame others for our plight in life, this quote will give us a good swift kick in the keister!!!

The world isn’t all sunshine and rainbows, but life is a gift, and our life will be as good as we decide to make it, no excuses and no blaming…because WE ARE BETTER THAN THAT!

Now go listen to one of the Rocky movie Soundtracks and get yourself PUMPED because it’s gonna be an AWESOME DAY!

Are you familiar with the story of Sylvester Stallone’s life at that point. He wanted to be an actor but nobody would give him a part. He had to sell his dog for $25 because he couldn’t afford to feed him. He wrote the script in 2 to 3 days time. Here is some more detail on it: http://www.almorel.com/2011/11/the-amazing-story-of-the-making-of-rocky/
It is incredible what this was able to achieve. I also agree, the sound track was incredible.

When my older brother first showed me the video of this, it really got me. It was probably the first thing to have ever motivate or inspire me. I knew this before, but I never really processed it. Still, in a fight, you have to be able to take it and give it.
