You Can’t Be Sad When You Are Holding a Cupcake

I am thoroughly convinced that you can’t be sad when you are holding a cupcake or a bowl of ice cream.  It is impossible to do.  And that is why I highly suggest that anyone having a hard day go out and get either a cupcake or a bowl of ice cream and then you will find that you can’t be sad anymore today.

It’s amazing the influence that certain foods can have on us. Certain foods have the ability to evoke all kinds of emotions. For example, I think of comfort foods such as pot roast and mashed potatoes that make me feel safe because that was our go-to meal growing up for our Sunday family dinner.  I think of get well soon foods such as chicken soup and crackers that always had a way of making your tummy feel better. And then of course I think of ice cream cones which always makes me feel happy!  Yes, food is music to our bodies.

Speaking of music, music does the same thing to our emotions as food.  Music can influence our moods in a major way.  A cheerful song can make us smile, a song with a beat makes us want to get up and dance around, and a sad song can make us cry.  Music is food to our hearts.

“Food is music to the body, music is food to the heart.”  – Gregory David Roberts

Everyone goes through bad days once in a while.  Each of us has those times when we feel sad and blue.  And so I wanted to remind all of you that when life gets tough and you are struggling to find a reason to smile, all you really need to do to pick yourself up is to grab a cupcake and turn on some tunes!  Then watch as life instantly feels better!

“You can’t buy happiness, but you can buy cupcakes, and that’s’ kind of the same thing.”

Have a happy day everyone…one full of cupcakes, ice cream, and great music!  I am certainly going to 🙂
