“You never know how strong you are…until being strong is the only choice you have.”
Over the course of my adult life I’ve gone through some really hard things that at times have been so painful I didn’t know how in the world I would ever be able to get through them. There’ve been days when the hurt was so deep it was a struggle just to take a breathe.
I’ve had to be stronger in my life than I ever could have imagined, not because I was wanting to be strong but because being strong was the only choice I had – so many people were counting on me…my children, my employees, my family, my friends. So I learned how to take a breathe, put one foot in front of the other, stand up each time I fell down, move forward, and then drop to my knees and pray for God to help me have the strength to go on…I learned how to be strong.
God doesn’t always take away the hardships, and He doesn’t take away the free will of those people who hurt us, but He will give us the strength needed to carry the burdens placed upon us if we humble ourselves enough to ask Him for help. At times the help comes fast and at times it comes slow because He is allowing us to struggle through hardship in order to help build up our strength, courage, and determination. But one thing I know is that He never makes us struggle alone and He often sends Angels to be by our side during the most difficult times.
“Hard as things seem today, they will be better in the next day if you choose to serve the Lord this day with your whole heart. Your circumstances may not be improved in all the ways which you desire. But you will have been given new strength to carry your burdens and new confidence that when your burdens become too heavy, the Lord, whom you have served, will carry what you cannot.” –Henry B. Eyring
You are stronger than you know. You just may not realize it until being strong is the only choice you have.
