The only way to chase out darkness

The only way to chase out the darkness is to turn on the light.

I am not a fan of evil or trashy books or shows. The reason for that is that they always seem to create a feeling of darkness that lingers in the house and I cannot stand that feeling. It leaves you feeling heavy and yucky inside. It leaves your surroundings feeling dark and it leaves you feeling dark inside.

Now contrast that feeling to how you feel when you see something happy, like a Disney movie with it’s happily ever after, or an uplifting show with a positive message. It makes the room feel brighter and it leaves you feeling lighter and happier. Everything is brighter. And what could be better than to feel dazzlingly bright?!

Anytime we are feeling dark and down we can combat that by surrounding ourselves with things that bring more light into our lives. Whether its positive movies, or television shows, or positive books or positive people – guaranteed they are going to help bring more light into your life …after all, light is the only thing that can chase out darkness from your life. Light always overtake darkness.

“There is no darkness so dense, so menacing, or so difficult that it cannot be overcome by light.”-Vern Stanfill

It’s important to make sure we are actively filling our days with thing that are light because if we don’t make those efforts the default is for it to fill with darkness. And it’s important to pay attention to things that make us feel a sense of darkness in our lives and try to avoid those as much as we can.

Beyond chasing the light and avoiding the dark things of life, we should do our best to ensure that we ourselves are constantly giving off our own bright light with the actions and attitudes we exhibit.

Light makes everything better.

“Healing comes when we choose to walk away from darkness and move toward a brighter light.”– Dieter F. Uchtdorf

Have a DAZZLINGLY BRIGHT day!
